About LillyPatch Kids​

Our journey began when I, working in law enforcement, struggled to find childcare that fit my hectic schedule. I wanted a place where I felt confident and comfortable leaving  my one-year-old but found no options that met my needs. With my background as a teacher before transitioning to law enforcement, I decided to create a daycare that caters to families like ours, offering flexible schedules and following the Reggio Emilia approach to learning.​

At LillyPatch Kids, we are proud to have a team of dedicated and qualified teaching staff who strive for excellence. Professional development is a priority, ensuring our educators stay current with best practices, new information, and emerging teaching trends. We are also proud participants in the Maryland Department of Education Credential Program, recognizing the importance of continuity, consistency, and high-quality care for the families we serve.

Indoor & Outdoor Play

Our bright, clean playroom is thoughtfully designed with various activity areas to keep children engaged, such as:

• Blocks

• Housekeeping Area

• Train Table & Trains

• Dolls

• and more!

 

We emphasize open-ended play, offering opportunities for children to explore puzzles, games, art, play dough, dress-up, and more. Children can work individually or in groups, following their interests throughout the day.

Our large, fenced-in natural playscape and playground provides space for active play and exploration. We also encourage hands-on learning with an on-site garden, where children grow and tend to vegetables and herbs, fostering responsibility and a connection to nature.

Meals and Naps

Healthy habits are a cornerstone of our program:

• Beverages: Milk and water only—no juice.

• Food: Organic produce and fruits are prioritized. Sweet treats, like cupcakes, are reserved for birthdays.

• Parent Options: Families can send lunch for their child if they prefer.

 

After lunch, we transition to quiet time, offering children an opportunity to rest or relax. Soothing music helps create a calming atmosphere for everyone. At LillyPatch Kids, we are committed to nurturing a love for learning and discovery while providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children to grow.
